Tuesday, December 08, 2009 from 6:30 PM - 9:00 PM (PT)
The Livestream channel for this event can be viewed starting at 7 PM PST on BusinessBoomer.
On December 8th, some of the Bay Area's most notable female thinkers will come together to explore innovation across communications, entrepreneurship, programming, and development at the David Brower Center, which is three blocks from the Downtown Berkeley BART stop. Not that it will be women only; event participation is open to all genders.
Featuring twelve five-minute presentations from leaders, founders and activists, the first ever Ignite Bay Area will create an opportunity for local leaders and individuals to share their experiences, knowledge and the things that make them tick (and the networking and creative motivation can’t be beat). These aren’t business pitches but how to’s, entertaining history lessons, and stories presented over 20 slides that auto-rotate every 15 seconds. We couldn't be more excited for the group, which includes:
Our charity partner for the night is Hannah’s Socks, a non-profit focused on providing clothing necessities to shelters for the homeless and survivors of domestic violence. Your donations of new socks (which can easily be purchased at the Walgreens close to the venue) will benefit adults and children in the Bay Area as the weather cools this winter.
Special thanks to event partners Microsoft Biz Spark, O'Reilly, TCHO Chocolate, TechWeb, Intel, Automattic and Rickshaw Bags, videography partner Business Boomer, and media partners DivineCaroline, Women 2.0 and Social Media Club.
Around the world communities have been coming together for these locally run events that educate, inspire and entertain with Ignite Bay Area hosting a regular local series beginning with Women Innovators in 2009.
